REFLECTIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE

“Raw honesty, emotionally vulnerable, and emotionally cleansing. Her show left me feeling seen, heard, and connected to a community.”

- Brandi Matthews-Clark

K.C. Clifford’s music and storytelling is universal. It's about hope and courage and a reminder that YOU matter and your life has value. She has a unique ability to mix sadness with celebration and she will leave you feeling transformed, inspired, validated, loved.

- Heather Bailey

“You may think you know, based on your experience or research, who K.C. Clifford is. Maybe, you categorize her as musician, writer, storyteller, artist, social media presence, mother, or even, voice for women. Though you would not be wrong to tag her with any of these monikers, you would be missing the forest for the trees.

K.C. Clifford is the personification of ‘The Process.’

The therapeutic process…. the human process… the growth process… Those of us in the people and helping professions frequently talk about ‘The Process.’ It is the work and the journey that take us from Point A to Point B. It covers the toil of the metamorphosis, not simply the before and after.

Unfortunately, in a society fueled by instant gratification and the phenomenon of the exceptional overcomer story, the process is frequently edited out for interest and comfort-sake. K.C. LIVES the process! She works her process; and with uncontested vulnerability, she weaves it into everything she does and shares it with the world. She recognizes the necessity of it, and all that she does is an effort to normalize those ‘in-between’ waters for the rest of us.

As a therapist, a mother, an artist, a storyteller myself, I crave a world where unapologetically living the process is the status quo and the standard of success and beauty; for it is the place where real life and evolution take place. But, for the time being, I will take heart in knowing that our world is sprinkled with those like K.C. Clifford, who can light the path for us all.”

- Chani Cochran, MSW, LCSW

“Her music and her words are an outstretched hand to us all, giving us the gumption to baby step into our own truths, and to know we are loved and accepted in that space.”

- Kathryn Mosteller

K.C.’s writing makes me realize that I am not alone, and that we need to share our vulnerabilities because there is so much healing that can take place. It’s ok to not be ok. I can never truly express what her writing has helped me overcome. I am forever grateful.

- April Rutledge

It takes courage to live openly in the realities of kids and dirt and sorrow and sickness and music and overcoming and falling again. K.C. Clifford lives, loves, speaks, and sings courageously. What moves me the most is her dedication to looking through circumstances toward feeling and meaning. She has fed me at the bedside of my hospitalized daughter, brought me into singing with my whole tired heart, spoken words of kindness, wholeness, self-acceptance, and written on the meaning in moments that seem mere minutia. She lives generously with her (our) human experiences and the meaning she makes of them.

- Jessica Zan

I love her stories and her songs tell stories, too. The way she masterfully weaves them together during her show with her humor, emotion, and realness takes the audience on a journey with her. The way she connects with her audience makes us all feel like we are her best friends. So relatable. Her voice and her songs are so, so beautiful and the way she presents her songs makes for an incredible experience.
